Here
are some listings of my favorite resturants.
I
like tapas because you can taste a little bit of a
lot of things. I also like them because they are a
very social way of eating. Two of the best places
in Barcelona are "Taktika Berri" and "Cerveceria
Catalana". Both have sit down dining but I recommend
just bellying up to the bar and eating the tapas.
Neither accepts reservations for the tapas bar.

There
are many hip and trendy restaurants in Barcelona.

with an ethnic food like Middle Eastern or Mexican
food.

In
the Raval Area:
Casa

Calle San Rafael 24

Tel: 93-441-69-42
(This
restaurant is located in a bad area. You may be
afraid getting to it, but once inside you have stepped
back in time to the hey day of the neighborhood.
It is known for its seafood.)
Eating
in average restaurants costs about the same in the
US as it does in Barcelona. The big difference is
the high-end establishments. Barcelona doesn't have
the price extremes that exist in the US. That's good
news when wanting to dine on the higher end. An expensive
restaurant is the US costs much more than it's equivalent
in Barcelona. The best example of this is the restaurant
Jean Luc Figueras. A dinner here would easily cost
twice or three times as much in the US. One reason
is because wines are a lot cheaper in Spain.

To
find any of these restaurants, use the web-based street
finder supplied by the Barcelona city government.
Go to www.bcn.es.
Click on "Guia de BCN", then enter the street
name and number and the map will display where it
is.
